Press Release

Rock Band Wilco to Play The New Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Friday, June 19

04/20/2009

Legendary Chicago rock band Wilco will be making a stop on their 2009 Tour at The New Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, June 19. Tickets go on-sale to the general public on Saturday, April 25 at noon.

Wilco, formed by guitarist and songwriter Jeff Tweedy in the mid-1990s, will be touring in support of the release of a new studio album – their seventh. It follows their Grammy-nominated 2007 recording Sky Blue Sky (which followed their 2005 double Grammy winner A Ghost is Born.) The band just completed their new album (recorded at their Chicago studio, The Loft) and it will be released on Nonesuch Records this summer.

Before the new studio recording, Nonesuch Records will release Ashes of American Flags, a new film presenting the band live in concert during their 2008 tour. The film captures the energy, poignancy and musicality of a Wilco concert and tour. Ashes of American Flags intersperses interviews with band members and day-in-the-life footage
as the band travels across the U.S.

Wilco features Jeff Tweedy on guitars & vocals; John Stirratt on bass & vocals; Glenn Kotche on drums & percussion; Nels Cline on guitars; Pat Sansone on guitars, keyboards, & vocals and Mike Jorgensen on keyboards & vocals. For more information on Wilco, visit wilcoworld.net.

Tickets go on-sale Saturday, April 25 at noon for Wilco. Tickets are available at the Hard Rock Hotel Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations, online at Ticketmaster.com or charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000. Tickets are $35 and are subject to service fees.
